• Websites And Wallpaper

Thankfully the wood paneling on the walls when I was growing up was all but removed worldwide. Unfortunately it was often replaced by wallpaper.  Worse yet, the pattern went out of style. Replacement was costly, but it was a point of discussion when you had guests over. “New wallpaper, do you like it?”

Why Am I Talking About Wallpaper?

There are similarities when discussing wallpaper and websites. Over time both degrade, over time both become out of style, over time both should be replaced.  When they’re new and good, they’re something to talk about – consequently when they’re outdated and worn, they’re something to hide.  They’re both reflective of your attention to modernity. They’re both reflective and associated with your sense of style.  They can be a sense of pride, or they can be a sense of embarrassment.

    Anyone Can Put Up Wallpaper!

This is correct, anyone CAN put up wallpaper… but is it the right wallpaper, the right quality, the right style, will it last, does it “work?  The same questions can apply to website design and development.  There’s more to it than simply a collection of HTML files on the web.  Is it the right website, does it imbue the quality of your company, does it reflect your corporate style and image, does it “work” for you?  Your website reflects a lot about your business, and you should ensure you offer the best experience for your visitors.  Having a professional with experience do the work will most certainly result in a job well done.

    There’s a season for that!

For wallpaper (or other home remodeling) the season is prior to the holidays, looking forward to ensuring your arriving guests for Thanksgiving or Christmas are welcomed into a beautiful home. For business, it’s the “new year”!  Starting off the New Year with a new online presence can offer a sense of renewal and feeling for great beginnings for new things.  It can be a point of conversation when approaching new clients, “We’ve just updated our site, come take a look!”.  New website features can smooth day to day operations, offering your current clients new ways to interact with your business, process orders, schedule appointments or find out about plans for the New Year.  A new, properly coded, responsive and SEO’d site can help you meet target goals by improving your visibility in SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Sometimes, You’re Just Due for a Facelift.

Sometimes, you just aren’t aware that you need a new look, until someone points it out. It’s best to avoid that unpleasant conversation – particularly with potential clients.  It’s one thing to find out your walls are ugly, it’s a wholly different experience to find out visitors are leaving your website due to poor performance, wondering if your neglected website represents a company that may or may not still be in business.

If you’re looking for wallpaper, well, we can’t help you out there, but if you’re looking to evaluate your website, let us know, and we’ll take a look.
