A great website does not have to be flashy. It has to be clear. When someone lands on your site, they should know what you do, feel like they can trust you, and see exactly how to reach you, without hunting for it. That clarity is the whole point of good web design, and it is what every Yellowfin site is designed to do.
Web Design Built Around Your Business
Designed and built directly with the owner. Based on Long Island, New York, working with businesses across the country. The same person designs your site, builds it, and answers the phone when you call about it later.
What We Design
- Business and brochure websites
- Website redesigns and rebuilds
- Landing pages built to convert

Why People Come to Us

- Going after bigger clients and need to look the part
- Something broke and the last developer is gone

We Design for Your Customers, Not for Awards
Your customers did not come to your site for animations. They came to find out what you do and decide whether they trust you. So that is what the design serves first: showing what you offer, making you look like the real thing, and putting the next step right in front of them. When the look supports all of that, it’s working. That’s the bar.
A chiropractor’s site should not look like a law firm’s, and a landscaper’s should not look like either. Before any design starts, we work out who your customers are and what they came to find. The colors, the layout, the language, the photos – it all follows from that, chosen to fit your business and nobody else’s.
Recent Website Designs
A web designer is only as good as the work. Here are recent sites, each designed for a different kind of business.
What Makes For Good Design
Good design is not about taste, it is about results. A business website earns its keep when it does these well, and every site is built to hit all of them.
Already Have a Website?
You don’t always need to start over. A lot of the work here is taking a site that has fallen behind, slow, dated, or a pain to update, and redesigning it into something current without throwing out what already works. Your content, your rankings, the parts that are doing their job, those stay. The rest gets fixed.
And if a full rebuild makes more sense than a redesign, you will hear that straight, with the reason why.
The Foundation of Every Design
Most sites are built on WordPress, which keeps your site yours instead of renting it from a platform that can lock you in. It is not the only tool we use. We pick whatever fits the job. Depending on the project, a design can include any of the following.
Not Every Business Needs a Custom Design
Plenty of small businesses get by on a template or a do-it-yourself builder, and for some that’s the right call. The trouble usually shows up later, when you want to rank in Google, add something the builder won’t do, or stop paying every month for features you never touch. We wrote up the real, long-term costs of popular builders so you can decide for yourself: what Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, and Shopify do not tell you about the real cost.
Some businesses are perfectly served by a simple website. Others need custom functionality, specialized integrations, ecommerce, membership systems, booking platforms, or unique content structures. The right solution depends on your goals, not on selling you the biggest project possible.
If a simple setup fits where you are right now, we’ll let you know. If you have outgrown one, that is exactly what we build.

Common Questions
What is web design, exactly?
It is the look, layout, and structure of your site: how it’s organized, how it reads, and how it guides a visitor toward getting in touch, everything from color theory to branding, feel and culture. Done well, it is the difference between a site that represents you and brings in business, and one that just sits there.
Do I need a new site or just a redesign?
If the bones are good, a redesign or refresh is often enough. If the site is built on something dated or fighting you at every turn, a rebuild is the better call. We’ll look at what you have and tell you straight. The web is changing and the technology behind design is changing with it. What worked five years ago often doesn’t hold up now, and that’s usually what drives the call.
How long does a website take?
Most sites launch in two to six weeks, depending on the size of the site and how fast content and feedback come together. See our full process and pricing.
Do you only build on WordPress?
WordPress is the primary tool, because it keeps you in control of your own site instead of renting it from a platform that can change the rules or the price. We’ve been designing and coding websites since before WordPress existed, so we’re platform agnostic. If you are weighing a site builder, here is the real cost of Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, and Shopify.
Do you design for my industry?
Most likely. Our recent work spans accounting, healthcare, landscaping, nonprofits, franchising, restaurants, pro-audio, blue-collar trades, security, training, entertainment, and so much more. The design approach adapts to the business and its customers. See our portfolio.
Will I be able to update it myself?
Yes. Sites are built on WordPress so you can change text and photos on your own. If you would rather not, a care plan covers it. Some clients are 100% hands-off and others want to be involved in every step – we work however you’re comfortable.
