Ex Machina Soundworks
Professional Audio Website Design
Ex Machina Soundworks is a Brooklyn-based manufacturer of precision studio monitors – high-end loudspeakers built from the ground up by engineers and musicians who decided the industry’s accepted compromises weren’t acceptable anymore. They came in with a hard deadline: the site had to be live before the 2020 NAMM Show in Anaheim, where their product line was making its public debut. No existing site to migrate, no runway – just a deadline, a tight budget, and a product that could hold its own against anything else in the room.
The build was ground-up WordPress – designed to reflect the precision and culture of the brand as much as the products themselves. Clean layout, strong visual presentation of the monitor line, a site that could speak credibly to engineers and producers who know exactly what they’re looking at. Logo work, domain setup, UI design, and technical configuration were all part of the project. The site launched on time and on budget, ready for the show floor.
That was 2020. Since then the relationship hasn’t stopped. The product line has grown from its original NAMM debut to a full range of monitors – the Terra, Gravity, Selene, Poseidon, Pulsar MkII, Quasar MkII, Ganymede, and Arcturus – and the site has grown with it. Ex Machina is now stocked at Sweetwater, Vintage King, Alto Music, Perfect Circuit, Sound Pure, and dealers across Europe, Australia, and beyond. Yellowfin handles ongoing hosting, email, technical support, and site updates as the line expands.
Full disclosure: a pair of Quasars live in the studio here. The product is the real thing – which makes the work that much more interesting to be part of. Happy to be involved in the journey.
Several years after the initial launch, Ex Machina came back for a full redesign. The product line had grown, the brand had matured, and the original site needed to grow with it. The redesign incorporated new product launches, an expanded model lineup, and a fully integrated WooCommerce e-commerce store handling direct US sales – with international buyers routed to the dealer network. New product pages, updated photography, and a shop built to handle the complexity of a premium audio brand selling direct to engineers and studios worldwide. Same client, same trust, bigger platform.

Ex Machina Soundworks

“Ex Machina Soundworks began as a rebellion against the status quo in audio. Tired of the tacit, creeping compromises we all take for granted as the cost of making music, we set out to create something different entirely. Something paradigm changing. Something true. Combining a true diversity of perspectives and expertise – from artificial intelligence and DSP to circuit design to acoustic and materials science to 30 plus years of recording and music making experience – we set out to push the envelope of what is scientifically possible in loudspeaker design. All with one goal in mind: shorten the gap between you and your music.”

Our Work
Ex Machina is one of nearly three decades of client projects. The portfolio covers small business sites, nonprofit builds, ecommerce stores, and everything in between – across industries, budgets, and project types. If you see something that looks like what you need, that’s where the conversation starts.
Every project is scoped individually. No packages, no guesswork – just a straight conversation about what you need and what it will take to build it right.
