Three Projects Worth Looking At Closely

Featured Work

Not every project tells a story worth slowing down for. These three do. A nonprofit platform built from the ground up, a local healthcare site rescued from malware and rebuilt for search, and a product launch for a Brooklyn audio manufacturer with a hard NAMM deadline. Different industries, different problems, same approach.

Nonprofit Website Design & Development

Hero Down Foundation

Hero Down Foundation came in on a Shopify site that had outgrown itself entirely. The foundation had grown into three distinct pillars – a charity, a competition series, and a merchandise shop – each with its own audience, content, and functionality needs, all crammed into a template that was never built to hold any of it.

Yellowfin rebuilt it from the ground up on WordPress and WooCommerce. Stripe handles both donations and merchandise sales. The Triple Crown Throwdown competition series got its own section with event scheduling, registration, and a custom pre-order apparel drop with variable product bundling and personalized name printing on competition gear. Logo work was included.

As a veteran himself, Stephen understood the mission before the first conversation was over. That context shaped every decision in the build.

“Within five minutes of talking to Stephen, I knew Yellowfin was exactly what we were looking for. Cookie-cutter websites that drag on for months, drain you of money – that’s not what this was.”

Healthcare Website Rescue & Rebuild

Dr. Matt Chiropractic

Dr. Matthew Goldschmidt has been voted Best Chiropractor on Long Island by the Long Island Choice Awards. His website looked nothing like that when he came to Yellowfin – PHP errors across every page, broken layout, missing images, a black homepage, and malware running through files on a theme too outdated to run on current WordPress. Patients landing on it had no reason to stay.

That first call turned into a full recovery – malware removal, server migration, theme replacement, and a complete WordPress rebuild. Once the site was stable the structure got a full overhaul organized around what a patient actually does when searching for a chiropractor: what’s treated, what the first visit looks like, whether insurance is accepted, and how to book.

Yellowfin handles ongoing hosting, Google Business Profile management, and local directory listings – keeping Dr. Matt visible and consistent across every platform where Long Island patients are searching for chiropractic care.

Voted Best Chiropractor on Long Island by the Long Island Choice Awards. The site needed to match the practice. Now it does.

E-Commerce & Product Launch

Ex Machina Soundworks

Ex Machina Soundworks is a Brooklyn-based manufacturer of professional studio monitors – high-end audio gear built by engineers and musicians who got tired of the compromises baked into everything else on the market. They came in with a hard deadline: a new website had to be live before the 2020 NAMM Show in Anaheim, where their product line was making its public debut.

The build was ground-up – designed to reflect the culture and precision behind the brand as much as the product itself. Clean layout, strong visual presentation of the monitor line, and a site that could hold its own in a room full of industry professionals who know exactly what they’re looking at. Logo work, domain setup, UI design, and technical configuration all included. Launched on time and on budget, ready for NAMM.

Ex Machina is the kind of client that makes the work interesting – deeply technical, strong aesthetic opinions, and a product that earns its own credibility. The job was to build something that kept up with all of that without getting in its way.

“Great service, incredibly helpful, insightful and took the initiative with helping us dial in creative design decisions, beyond just the website design.”

Dan “Physics” Grochowski – Ex Machina Soundworks
